Second Engineer (m/f/d)

Our company’s global activities focus mainly on the comprehensive ship management of our own and our clients’ tonnage. Our 460 office employees and 2,000 regular crew members are currently taking care of a diversified fleet of more than 64 units – heavy lift carriers, bulkers, tankers, dock ships, container feeders, offshore vessels, catamaran/ferry.

For the support of our heavy lift fleet we are looking for a Second Engineer (m/f/d).

Your role:

  • You are planning and executing all maintenance works in cooperation with the Chief Engineer
  • You are ensuring that work in the engine department is carried out as to the necessary professional standard
  • You lead and support the engine room crew to keep the vessel in sound condition in every technical, safety and operational aspect
  • You maintain and feed the reporting systems to share the maintenance status and upcoming repairs with the onshore team
  • You support the Chief Engineer in the procurement process

You hold all necessary STCW qualifications (i.a. III/2). 
Ideally, you already gained experience as Second Engineer on vessels equipped with NMF cargo cranes and have sailed on vessels without Electrician. In addition, you have the following knowledge and characteristics:

  • Willing to work in a team and target-oriented
  • Combining high work motivation with resilience
  • Fluent English
