To strengthen our team at the SAL Engineering headquarters in Hamburg, we are looking for a Gear Manager.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee global warehouses in Europe (Bremerhaven & Rotterdam), Americas (Houston), and Asia (Singapore, Trans-mar)
  • Track and maintain inventories of all SAL-owned gear, ensuring availability and certification compliance
  • Coordinate stock moves and equipment distribution, ensuring sufficient supply at key locations
  • Equip chartered vessels with required gear and ensure return after use
  • Arrange procurement, rental, and transportation of lifting and securing equipment
  • Maintain documentation, vessel inventories, and compliance records
  • Collaborate with global Gear Managers to optimize gear management

 

Your profile:

  • Basic knowledge of the maritime and/or logistics industry
  • Motivated, well-organized, and self-reliant
  • Technical or commercial education with an interest in technical aspects
  • Good command of English (written and spoken)
  • Located in Hamburg with willingness to travel occasionally
  • Valid driving license (class B)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and general computer literacy
  • Ability to solve practical problems and handle variable situations where standardization is limited
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex instructions and documentation
