What is it all about?

Our Maritime Kick-Start Programme is a 12-month intensive programme for candidates having successfully completed their apprenticeship in a shipping company and who want to further develop their skills, gain practical experience, and accelerate their careers within the maritime sector. This program is specifically tailored for individuals who are passionate about shipping, have a huge interest to explore the dynamic world of heavy-lift and project cargo transport and are ready to take the next step!

 

We offer:

  • Rotational Assignments: Programme participants will participate in rotating assignments across key functional areas, including Operations and Chartering. These rotations allow participants to gain a holistic understanding of the industry and build a strong foundation for their future roles.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Each participant will be paired with an experienced mentor who will provide personalized guidance, share industry insights, and help navigate the complexities of maritime operations.
  • Learning Opportunities: Participants will spend time both on-the-job and in structured learning environments. This dual approach ensures a balance between hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge. Hosted by internal function- and industry experts, participants will complete a “Maritime Expert Certificate” Course during the programme to boost their knowledge!
  • International Environment: We offer you a multinational working environment with international colleagues and the opportunity to work in one of our international offices during one rotation of the programme.
  • Networking Options: Throughout the programme, participants will have the chance to connect with industry professionals, attend workshops, and participate in industry events. Building a professional network is crucial for long-term success.
  • Skill Development: Participants will enhance their skills in areas such as vessel operations, cargo handling, chartering negotiations, logistics, and regulatory compliance. They will also gain proficiency in using industry-specific software and tools.

 

Your profile:

  • You have successfully completed an apprenticeship as “Schifffahrtskaufmann /-frau” in Germany or you have completed a similar practical training in a shipping company or
  • You have successfully graduated in a maritime logistics course at university or business school.
  • You are a great team player, thrive in a multinational team and have good verbal and written English skills.
  • You are absolutely passionate about the maritime industry and want to dive into Heavy Lift and project cargo transport!
  • You are ready to move to Hamburg where most of the programme will take place.
  • And: You are more than ready to take the next step to fast-track your career!
