To strengthen our MPP and heavy lift team in Aarhus, we are looking for a Senior Chartering Manager (m/f/d).

Your main responsibilities:

  • Operate within the European time zone and collaborate closely with global teams in the Americas and Asia
  • Focus on daily chartering, negotiating and securing profitable shipping contracts while optimizing vessel utilization in response to market fluctuations
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other key stakeholders in the Multipurpose, Breakbulk, and Project cargo markets
  • Negotiate booking notes with direct clients, brokers, and freight forwarders
  • Negotiate charter parties with charterers, operators, and brokers
  • Conduct voyage calculations and assess options based on market trends and corporate policies
  • Maximize earnings on owned and chartered vessels
  • Support the Chartering team with performance control and reporting
  • Manage short- and medium-term contracts, tonnage, and cargoes through autonomous decision-making
  • Develop strategic trades in collaboration with your team to drive global growth
  • Coordinate fleet positioning in close cooperation with regional and global offices
  • Analyse market research, trends, and data to provide informed market insights
  • Represent the company at conferences, shipping events, and client meetings

 

Your profile:

  • 5–10 years of experience as a Chartering Manager or in a similar role, ideally within the multipurpose, breakbulk, or project cargo segment
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations, compliance standards, and risk management practices
  • Strong commercial acumen to evaluate market conditions, assess risks, and make swift, profitable decisions in alignment with team goals
  • Proven negotiation skills to secure advantageous contracts with clients, brokers, and freight forwarders
  • A genuine ability to build and nurture strong relationships both within the team and with external partners
  • A natural mentor, fostering collaboration and promoting a high-performance, supportive culture among colleagues
  • Proactive, analytical, and solution-oriented with a focus on delivering optimal results in a dynamic market environment
